Secure Paper Shredding

Shred Aware provides secure paper shredding for businesses and individuals across Humboldt County and surrounding areas. Regular service provides a range of locking consoles and bins, from discreet 30lb under-desk containers to 200lb rolling carts, to keep documents protected between visits. Pickup schedules are set around your actual paper volume, not rigid routes, allowing flexible, cost-efficient service. One-time clean outs and purges cover boxes, bags, or loose paper for year-end cleaning, office moves, storage cleanups or warehouse clear-outs. Shredding is available onsite at your location with a mobile shred truck or offsite at Shred Aware’s secure facility. Every job includes a Certificate of Destruction with pickup and destruction dates, and material that can be recycled is sent into the recycling stream.

Hard Drive Shredding and Data Management

Hard Drive Shredding & Data Management services protect data on retired devices and structures the full IT lifecycle. As part of IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) and Asset Lifecycle Management (ALM), assets are inventoried, serials and tags recorded, drives removed and shredded or sanitized per customer requirements, and remaining hardware reused, remarketed, or recycled. Service is available as recurring bin pickups or project clean outs, with detailed Certificates of Destruction for audit and compliance.

Information Destruction Policy

Shred Aware offers CSDS Consultation to help companies comply with privacy laws that often require a written information destruction policy defining how confidential data is handled and destroyed. We offer Information Destruction Policy Consulting led by owner Kyle Visser, an authorized CSDS Specialist trained and tested by NAID. Using the NAID Compliance Toolkit, we review your practices and develop a data destruction policy aligned with regulations and your industry standards. The toolkit combines prepared templates with a structured process so the policy reflects your operations while remaining compliant. You retain final authority over the document, supported by guidance from experienced information destruction and records management professionals.

Junk and Electronic Waste Removal

Shred Aware handles junk and electronic waste removal for homes, businesses, and construction sites. Projects include moves, office or equipment upgrades, construction debris, space-making cleanouts, and organizing or clearing out homes and yards. The goal is to be a single source for clearing unwanted items, coordinating with other providers when special handling is required. In addition to shredding media that contains sensitive information, Shred Aware removes electronic items that do not need shredding but must be recycled or disposed of, such as printers, fax machines, televisions, monitors, cables, kitchen appliances, computer towers, and accessories, destroying residual confidential data and managing e-waste recycling and disposal.

Courier and Secure Logistics

In addition to document destruction, Shred Aware operates courier services across Humboldt, Del Norte, and Trinity Counties. The same secure trucks used for shredding routes can move mail, documents, packages, and partial or full truckloads of goods between locations. Service is available as a regular scheduled route or on a will-call basis, depending on volume and timing. Coverage includes communities such as Crescent City, Klamath, Orick, Trinidad, McKinleyville, Arcata, Eureka, Blue Lake, Willow Creek, Hoopa, Weaverville, Hayfork, Loleta, Ferndale, Fortuna, Rio Dell, Scotia, Garberville, Redway, Leggett, Laytonville, Willits, Fort Bragg, Ukiah, and Lakeport, with efforts made to accommodate other nearby areas when possible.
